He leaves Helman Tallhart and 400 men to defend the Twins 16. He commands the horsemen on the west bank of the Green Fork while Roose Bolton commands the footmen down the Kingsroad 15. The Freys mass a small army (4,000 men) at The Twins, where Robb Stark wins their fealty and passage across the Green Fork. Gregor Clegane 'burns out' the Pipers and the Brackens. Shella Whent yields Harrenhal to the Lannisters. To hold Riverrun, Jaime splits his force in three. Edmure Tully is taken captive and Tytos Blackwood retreats to Riverrun, which Jaime holds under siege. Jaime Lannister routs the lords of the Trident. Tywin Lannister and Gregor Clegane fall on Beric Dondarrion and his men just as they cross the Red Fork.
